Some people just dont feel like talking to strangers speccially when they cant see or know these people...... iam not talking for myself but some people do.

Anyway, regarding the Elite Missions, yeah I suppose it's frustrating for uncoordinated groups to do, and to be honest I went and did it last night, didn't really notice an increase in drops. There was 1 gold Truncheon that dropped randomly, but on the upside, all but 1 chest was gold.

I suppose that's what they meant, instead of gold drop odds being 0.0002% instead of 0.0001%.

Double drop rates benifits more the ppl who have been playing them for months since they can run through easy and fast while the non-1337 spend time learning the area and are lucky to get much.

(i know u can get ferries to some of the missions, but not being open to public is unfair I paid the same price as everyone else to buy the game I wish I knew that I didn't get access to the best areas before I wasted my money)
k then, let's not see you go into UW or Fow either.

Oh just blame it on all the error 58s or 7s hey the server it self.It takes patience to do this mission plan atleast 3 to 4 hours to do it and fall back when you see someting about to go bad.I don't believe this mission is like any other meant to be rushed.I never did it as I didn't want to spent 3 to 4 hours in there.

This thread only goes to show that:

A) This forum is full of flamers that will say things like, "I solo'd UW in ten minutes and got 100 etcos, anybody that can't do the same is just a noob." They will say anything just to stir things up.

B) Not everyone shares similar experiences simply due to the number of variables invovled. So, while the OP feels the the elite missions suck, others will feel differently. Obviously, just because they suck for the OP doesn't mean it will for everyone.

C) That there are lots of "know it alls" that stanchly defend their particular methods of approaching missions, quests, etc. They typically deride any other methods posted and often state, "any other way will just fail".

D) There is a huge variation in the skill level of GW players. Hardcore players tend to frequent these forums and many are less than sympathetic to the casual player that doesn't spend hours per day in GW. Rather than offering help and advice, they can only take pot shots (much like flamers) by inferring the OP is a noob.

The Elite Missions The Deep and Urgo Warren existed since guild wars factions was was realesed. It was open to eveybody. The Deep can be found in Cavalon and Urgo in House Ze.People usally ask for "ferry" to these palces.Which means someone who is with the guild who owns these cities can bring u to the elite missions.

elite missions really dont suck, you just have to find a group that knows what they are doing, i had started in a b.p group, in warren and made it to room 7 with 9 people after some people d/ced second group died early because we lost our bip and rit lord. but my 3rd group which was a little weird but we made it to urgoz and killed him after i tried to explain "Keep away from the explosive growths we beat him and i got my long bow so im happy

I did a b/p group with my ranger last night before they fixed the drop rate ( errrr ). I chose this because when I used to do Tombs, we’d tear through it in about 45 minutes. Well, there’s no “tearing through” Urgoz. Yeah, we made it to the end…even with two people being disconnected. But it was painfully long and boring. Wave after wave of mobs, pulling this mob, then another and another. And very little decent loot to show for it. I posted in another thread that it’s not about the loot, it’s about the fun. But I have to say, this wasn’t a lot of fun. Don’t get me wrong. I loved my group. For a PUG, we were fantastic. Everyone knew their role and did a great job. Yeah, we cleaned out the baddies easily enough, but after three and a half hours, I only had three crappy golds and no real sense of accomplishment. The first time I cleared Tombs and FoW, I really felt good, like I had done something pretty cool. Last night, I was just bored.

Yea, I do agree that the elite missions are possibly too long, as in time-consuming. Most PUG's don't have 4 hours to spend, and then you get leavers/disconnects, which makes it even harder. Sure, some guild groups can make it in 2 hours, but that's a tall order for a random PUG.

pugs fail these missions. don't even try it unless you have a few friends with you.

Example: 2 hours ago I started an Urgoz BP Group. At about the 7th room, we realized that nobody had brought eoe. bam, 3 rangers, a nuker, and a monk left, which isn't good in case you didn't know. So basically we just all died and tried to be happy with our purple chest drops. yay pugs

Man. A lot of off-topic developed from my first post. But here is the thing. The mission is actually not difficult. Compare this with a WoW high-level instance, its not difficult at all. But people drop when they get just a little frustrated. It takes about 45 minutes to form the group. It takes .5 seconds for someone to drop. If they drop while in the beginning rooms, then everyone is screwed. If they over-agro, then screwed. If they spam crap on the radar, people will leave.

Another thing...its hard enough getting people together for an 8 person mission where you can fill some spots with henchys. Sometimes those work out OK though. The other day when I was trying to cap Eviserate at the Fissure of Woe, no one wanted a Warrior. So 6 warriors who also wanted to cap eviserate got together, we took 2 henchy healers. And we totally owned. You can't do that with these elite missions. You really need 4 tanks, 4 healers, and 4 mages (maybe can sub messmer's, necros, and/or rituallists in for some mages). Group composition is key. Which makes forming the group so much more of a pain.

so we should all have the same items and prestige from the start? The huge cooperative groups should work hard on things and gain nothing? According to you, I should have access to your storage and if not, I'm considered unworthy.

oh wow you played a year..how special. You have absolutely no idea what kind of dedication it takes to have a 10 guild alliance all donating faction for a common cause. You are equally clueless if you think the top alliance guilds mindlessly farm faction all day and do nothing else.

Oh boohoo that person knows how to do the mission because they worked hard to understand it. I as the not-so-informed should have the same ease and skill to do it even though I haven't bothered myself to the same extremes they have

(i know u can get ferries to some of the missions, but not being open to public is unfair I paid the same price as everyone else to buy the game I wish I knew that I didn't get access to the best areas before I wasted my money)

so according to your logic so far = boohoo im a newbie to the game and that other person has cool armor, weapons and unlocked outposts and towns they worked hard to get. Please start all my characters at level 20 with all the skills unlocked and give me the best things in the game since I paid the same amount as everyone for the game. I should automatically have 100% of the content in the game laid out in front of me without any work since I paid for the game.
People with contempt and or hostility towards people (in this case ANET and experienced players) that worked hard for something have bigger issues than a simple game.

Well even though you paid the same price for the game you never actually did anything to EARN The elite missions. My guild/alliance owns House zu heltzer/Urgoz and we have to donate 5k minimum per day.We spend time donating faction to our guild/alliance and giving the elite missions to the public. We taxi people for free even though they havn't really done anything for us.You should be happy we taxi for free.
I'd just like to say a person in my guild has donated 3 Million Kurzick faction to our alliance and he has really earned it.
So either way you get the elite mission and you can't complain about not accessing it as we have many people who taxi in our guild.

My thoughts exactly. I've read numerous posts and threads here and in virtually every instance there are the childish, immature insults and beratings by others simply because they happen to disagree with what the OP or another poster happened to say.

If you happen to disagree with someone else, that's fine. But it doesn't give you carte blanche to ridicule and embarrass them. You might have the false impression it makes you appear bold and knowledgeable to others when in actuality it only makes you appear little.

If you don't like what someone else says and can't politely voice your disagreement then move on.

PvPers and PvEers in one way are alike, they both suffer from extreme groups of ego's

PvPers egors consider themselves above PvEers because they face real people not 'dumb' computers. They quietly ignore the fact that a massive number of players are 'dumb' and maintain that they're superiour in skill.

PvEers egos comes down to captalism, or pure greed. They workout the best possible build (often this amounts to reading guildwiki) and once they get the hang of it they play for the most efficient method of getting greens. Everything else becomes secondary.

I'm not going to fling fingers at people and argue which way is what, but I will say this is a game. Games are about fun. PvP gets competative at the highest level because teams like Evil win money, but mainly the masses below the top crust are in this for fun. If you're not having fun, do yourself and us all a favour and leave.

There are several monsters down there that cant hit for massives ammount of damage. The Reason you died in one hit was due to a suicide skill used by the hoping vampires which drains 100% of your life when they use it. Prot spirit, shelter, absorbtion runes will not and cannot reduce this damage and only way to stop them without dying is to trap kill them before they get to their target. This is the most likely reason you did die.

Reguarding the Absorbtion Runes nope they do not stack with other Absorbtion Runes. These runes were never ment to stack.

These missions are made to test teamwork and remember one man/woman can't take on these mother of missions all alone it takes at least a half-hearted attempt at teamwork to even stand a chance to advance throughout these missions. Not saying you didn't of course.

This missions is very Pick-up Groupable if the party members remember that it takes patients to do this mission. Last night for example I joined a pick-up group for the U. Warden Elite mission and we made it pretty far about half way (we died at the 4 bridge room ^^). I would reccomend people having Ventrilo/Teamspeak avaiable for use for these missions as the added information makes traveling through these treacherous areas alot easier and alot more enjoyable. These programs are not completely needed, but they are reccommended for a smoother journey.

Reguarding this site. This Fansite actually In my Opinion is alot more friendly than many of the other fansites around currently reguarding Flamers and trolls. There are many more good posters than there are these sort of posters here. Also, no matter where you go you will find these sort of people that is a garrentee.

Well I know you all must be tried of reading what I type so I will end this post with a simple Peace Out everyone.

I couldn't disagree more. With attitudes like this, I'd never go on any missions or get anything done. I've done nothing but PUGs from day one and I'd say I've had at least a 90% success rate. Yeah, you can get in a crappy PUG one in a while, but to write them off completely is ludicrous.
